The University of Macedonia of Economic and Social Studies (www.uom.gr) is the second and “youngest” University of the city of Thessaloniki, specialized in economic and social sciences. It has been established by the Greek State in 1990 and is the evolution of the former Superior Industrial School of Thessaloniki (1957). The University of Macedonia currently has ten academic departments and eight master programmes.


ACCESSIBILITY
The premises of the University of Macedonia are located in the heart of the city of Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and an important commercial, cultural and academic focal point for northern Greece and north-eastern Europe in general.

Thessaloniki’s International Airport “Macedonia”, which is directly connected with all major European capitals, is a barely 20 minutes car-drive from the city-centre. The “Macedonia” airport is connected with the city of Thessaloniki via public transportation (bus) and taxi.
