Title: Cliometrics and General Equilibrium: A Pathbreaking Figure Revisited

This article is devoted to the operational use of general equilibrium. My main objective is to use a cliometric case to participate in the construction of 'another' history of equilibrium analysis that makes intelligible both its omnipresence and the diversity of formulations. Examination of the links between cliometrics and general equilibrium (Section 2) is followed by discussion of Jeffrey Williamson's founding model (section 3) and the conclusion (section 4).
